Honors Advanced High School English 3/4 (9th Grade and up) Deposit

English 3/4 takes seven integrated strands of foundational language skills: pre-college comprehension of literature; academic responses; multiple genres; author’s purpose and style, mastery of written composition; and inquiry and research. This course will focus on literature written in response to events in World History.

The students will recognize and analyze literary structures and purposes within increasingly complex traditional, contemporary, classical, and diverse literature. In addition, use written expression in a variety of methods including mastering academic essays and professional correspondence.

This class will require about 3-4 hours outside of class each week.

Required novel book list will be sent in early August.  Required summer reading list will be sent in May.

*Prerequisite English 2 or approved equivalent with grade of 85 or higher

*This is an honors course and has course pre-requisites. If new to Mud Creek (please see honors course requirements outlined in procedures and if your student meets the class pre-requisites and honors requirements, contact jana@mudcreekstudio.com for class approval to register).
