Honors Panoramic view of Language Arts (6-8th Grade) Deposit

This class will explore and integrate all strands of language arts through reading, written essays, vocabulary, and oral presentations, in addition to developing a personal discipline of learning. Students will evaluate classic and contemporary young adult literature, use advanced Institute of Excellence in Writing (IEW) style to express contrasting viewpoints, critiques and basic research skills. The students will experience beginning principles of speech and oral presentations, master strategies for independent study, as well as delve into advanced vocabulary to enhance writing compositions.

*Previous IEW experience preferred, but private tutorials may be scheduled for students who do not have prior IEW experience

*This is an honors course and has course pre-requisites. If new to Mud Creek (please see honors course requirements outlined in procedures and if your student meets the class pre-requisites and honors requirements, contact jana@mudcreekstudio.com for class approval to register)

Class Deposit: $50 (Deposit will cover Notebook and supplies for class). Required novel book list will be sent in early August.
